upload-speed-broadband-internet-increased-simple-steps
Internet experience isn’t just determined by how you download files. Upload speed plays a major role as well. In India, one of the most common problems which broadband internet users face is slow uploading speed even when their downloading speed is really good. But the good thing is, users can increase their broadband upload speed with a few simple steps. It will enhance their streaming and uploading experience. Read below to learn how you can increase your broadband internet’s upload speed.

Switch From Asynchronous to Synchronous Service

If you have chosen a broadband plan which is for your residence, you might be signed up for an asynchronous service plan. What does that mean? It means that while you might get a good download speed, your internet service provider would have put a cap on your upload speed. But it is very easy to solve. Just call up your internet service provider and ask them to switch your plan to a synchronous plan. It allows the you to get a better upload and streaming speed.

Slow Upload Speed can be Solved with Special Precautions

There are different reasons for why your upload speed is coming less with your broadband plan. But you can take special precautions for keeping your upload speed high. There might be reasons such as physical barriers like walls or being too far away from the Wi-Fi router. One of the best things which you can do for solving your internet issues is that you can connect your computer to the internet with the help of ethernet. If you still face upload speed problems after that, here is what you can do:

  • See if your router can support the internet standards you want.
  • Ensure that other connected devices from your Wi-Fi aren’t being used all at the same time for streaming HD content or heavy downloads.
  • See if there is a firmware update available for your router. It is important to keep your internet router updated to the latest version to ensure faster connectivity.

Check if Some other Application is Installing an Update

Sometimes, your device might be installing an update at the same time as when you are trying to upload or stream something. This can potentially reduce your internet speed both for downloading and uploading. To increase your upload speed, you can just stop any other app from installing an update and let all the speed drive to the uploading process or streaming process. Also, see if any other device connected to your network is not updating.

There is one more thing that you can do and that is to checks if there are malware or other harmful software application or viruses. Removing malware and viruses will keep allow your internet upload speed to increase.

These are a few of the steps that you can take to increase the upload speed for your broadband connection.

bsnl-drops-200mbps-plan-unveils-new-100mbps-plan

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) withdrew its Bharat Fiber 200 Mbps plan in favor of a new 100 Mbps plan with a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of 1400GB or 1.4TB. The operator made the changes in the Chennai Circle where BSNL initially introduced the 200 Mbps plan along with the Telangana circle in January. While BSNL introduced the 200 Mbps plan on a promotional basis with an initial validity of 90 days, BSNL Chennai circle continued to deliver 200 Mbps to its users beyond its initial validity. As of press time on Friday, BSNL Tamil Nadu circle and the Puducherry circle continue to offer the 200 Mbps plan with the plan reflected on the respective circle pages.

BSNL 100 Mbps Plan with 1.4TB Data

The new 100 Mbps from BSNL dubbed as “Fibro Combo ULD 1999 CS 15” enables users to browse up to 100 Mbps speed till 1400GB or 1.4TB. The Fibro Combo ULD 1999 CS 15 is priced at Rs 1999 with the operator capping the speeds to 2 Mbps upon reaching the 1400GB limit. Additionally, BSNL enables users to make unlimited calls to any network across India.

The Fibro Combo ULD 1999 CS 15 is priced identically as the Fibro Combo ULD 1999 CS55 plan that offered 200 Mbps speeds.

With the changes on Friday, BSNL Bharat Fiber speeds are now capped to a maximum of 100 Mbps across all price points in Chennai and the majority of circles. While the operator has not specified a possible reason for the change in its offerings, network feasibility could be one of the reasons for BSNL to drop the 200 Mbps plan.

Meanwhile, BSNL continues to offer its “33GB Plan” at a price point of Rs 1999 across India except the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The BSNL 33GB Plan enables users to browse up to 100 Mbps speed till 33GB per day with the operator capping the speeds to 4 Mbps upon reaching the 33GB limit.

In Karnataka, BSNL also offers a Fibro Combo ULD 1999 CS311 plan along with the 33GB Plan at a similar price of Rs 1999. The Fibro Combo ULD 1999 CS311 plan enables users to browse up to 150 Mbps speed till 1500GB or 1.5TB. Additionally, BSNL offers a 1000GB CS62 Fibro plan in Karnataka that enables users to browse up to 100 Mbps till 1000GB. The 1000GB CS62 Fibro plan is priced at Rs 1995 in the Karnataka circle with the operator reducing the speeds to 2 Mbps upon reaching the 1000GB limit. BSNL offers users to make unlimited calls to any network on both the Fibro Combo ULD 1999 CS311 plan and the 1000GB CS62 Fibro plan.

BSNL speeds in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are limited to 10 Mbps at all price points including the top-tiered Rs 7999 plan. The Bharat Fiber BB – 225GB_CS333_AN plan priced at Rs 7999 enables users to browse up to 10 Mbps speed till 225GB with the operator capping the speeds to 512 Kbps beyond 225GB. Further, BSNL charges Rs 0.10 per MB upon reaching the 225GB limit on the Rs 7999 plan in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The operator does not have an Rs 1999 plan as in most other circles, however, BSNL offers an Bharat Fiber BB – 25GB_CS331_AN plan to its users in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Bharat Fiber BB – 25GB_CS331_AN priced at Rs 1899 enables users to browse up to 10 Mbps speed till 25GB with the operator reducing the speed to 512 Kbps beyond 25GB. Similar to the Bharat Fiber BB – 225GB_CS333_AN plan, BSNL charges Rs 0.10 per MB beyond 25GB from users on the Bharat Fiber BB – 25GB_CS331_AN plan.

BSNL Offers 200 Mbps Plan in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Circles

The Fibro Combo ULD 1999 CS55 plan that BSNL continues to deliver in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry circles enables users to browse upto 200 Mbps speed till 1500GB or 1.5TB. BSNL limits the speeds to 2 Mbps upon reaching the limit of 1500GB or 1.5TB and the plan is priced at Rs 1999.

It has to be noted that the BSNL Tamil Nadu circle on Sunday expanded the 200 Mbps plan to 11 other cities as part of its Bharat Fiber expansion. The 11 cities that received Bharat Fiber connection include Salem, Namakkal, Mettur, Yercaud, Omalur, Sankagiri, Tiruchengode, Attur, Valapady, Rasipuram, and Velur.

The Bharat Fiber service was initially restricted to major cities of Tamil Nadu including Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Pollachi, Trichy and Vellore. However, the operator has expanded the Bharat Fiber service to Cuddalore, Dharmapuri, Erode, Karaikudi, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Nagarcoil, Ooty, Thanjavur, Tirunelveli and Tutucorin.

It remains to be seen whether BSNL continues to deliver the Fibro Combo ULD 1999 CS55 plan in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry circles or introduce the changes similar to the Chennai circle.

Search For Internet Service Providers in Your Area

The first thing that you should do is compile a list of all the internet service providers in your area. Then look at the internet for reviews of their services. Check what is the pricing model each of them adopts. Not every provider will be available in your area. See the service provider which is famous in your area for providing good services.

Detail out the Plan and Services

Once you are done with compiling a list, research about everything that the internet service providers you have chosen offer to their customers. Compare their plans extensively, check what speed they provide and how much data they provide with different plans. Also, see if installation charges and equipment costs are charged by the customers. Check if there are data caps put on the daily data or monthly data offered.

Determine How Much Speed you Need

It is very important that you determine the kind of speed and monthly data/daily data which you require. Once you know what you need, it will become much easier for you to understand which internet service provider is the best for you. Check yourself how much data you consume every day and how much more or less you are going to need. If you stream at very high quality or if there are more people in your home who will be using the internet connection, then go for higher data and speed plans.

Test Your Internet Speed

The next step for you will be to check your current internet speed. This will also help you in understand how much more speed you need. With this, you can also check your current data limits for every day/every month. It will help you understand what you actually need.

Choose Your Internet Service Provider

After you have considered all the things mentioned above and gathered enough evidence on which internet service providers are really good, it is time for you to choose one service provider. Another smart thing that you can do is set up two internet connections but only if costs for a single connection supersedes costs of a double connection if you have a very large family. You can get every information you want on the internet service provider that you want on Google. In case you don’t get something, you can take their number out from Google and call them up to enquire about everything you need to know.

Hathway Broadband on Sunday introduced the 200 Mbps plan in Hyderabad at an effective price of Rs 899 per month. The company previously introduced the 200 Mbps plan in Chennai and other select cities across India. However, several key rivals of Hathway including Airtel and Act Fibernet offer 200 Mbps plans across India. According to Tom’s Guide, a publication dedicated to consumer tech products, 200 Mbps is ideal for users who are streaming 4K content or  for “sharing large files” online. The publication highlights that 200 Mbps is also recommended for users who have five or more devices connecting to the internet simultaneously. With only 19.08 million wired broadband subscribers, India’s wired broadband penetration is low as compared to wireless penetration. However, internet service providers across India offer plans from 10 Mbps to 1 Gbps internet speeds. broadband-connection-setting-up-broadband-connection

Sometimes setting up a new broadband connection for homes or businesses can be stressful. Due to ease of business and various incentives by the government, various broadband service providers have made their space in the market. All the service providers in the market compete with each other and offer various plans and packages to lure the customers. Not only this, but broadband service providers also offer different types of broadband connection to customers to fulfil their various internet needs. There are various types of a broadband connection which every customer must evaluate to ensure a fast and comfortable browsing experience. Here are all the types of broadband connection and their details which customers must evaluate before setting up a new broadband connection or switch their existing broadband connection type.

DSL Broadband

DSL stands for Digital Subscriber Lines which is the most common and famous wireline broadband connection. DSL technology transmits data over copper lines which are installed to homes and businesses. DSL broadband speed varies from several hundred kbps to Mbps. One of the significant features of DSL broadband connection is the internet speed. DSL broadband’s speed depends upon the distance between your home or business premises and the closest telephone company facility. In simple terms, if you are far away from the telephone company facility, you will witness the slower broadband speed, and in case if you are nearby, you will have a faster internet connection. DSL broadband connection has two different transmission technologies. One of them is asymmetrical digital subscriber line (ADSL) whereas the second one is symmetrical digital subscriber line (SDSL). In ADSL customers get higher download speed than upload speed for hassle-free browsing whereas in SDSL customers gets equal download and upload speed.

Cable Modem

Cable modems are much faster than DSL broadband connection. Cable modem providers use the coaxial cables to offer internet connection to customers. The same coaxial cable is also used for various other purposes. In cable modem, the transmission speed depends upon the type of cable which is being used by the internet service provider. Not only this, cable network and traffic load are also some of the essential factors which affect the transmission speed in cable modems. Mostly all the cable modem has two connections out of which one is to the cable outlet and the other one to the computer. Cable modem speed ranges from 10 Mbps, and it can deliver up to 1 Gbps internet speed.

Wireless Broadband

Sometimes DSL and cable broadband connection can be costly in urban areas due to high demand and traffic on transmission lines. To avoid that, a wireless broadband connection is offered over fixed networks to provide internet access to customers. Wireless broadband type uses a radio link between the customer’s location and the service providers facility. The major use of the wireless broadband connection is mainly in remote areas where other types of broadband connection types are not available. As of speeds, wireless broadband speed is almost same as of DSL.

Fibre Broadband

Fibre optic broadband connection has dominated the entire broadband industry. The new fibre optic technology offers massive download and upload speed which cater to the high-speed internet demand of customers. Fibre optic network technology uses transparent glass fibres which have the diameter of a human hair. Fibre broadband is the fastest broadband connection type available in the market. However, one of the major drawbacks of fibre broadband is availability. Fibre optic network technology is not available in all the locations.

Satellite Broadband

Sometimes installation of internet towers by service providers is difficult, especially in remote areas where resources are available is scarce. In such situations, the satellite broadband connection comes to the rescue. Satellite broadband connection requires a dish antenna. However, satellite broadband has two significant drawbacks. Firstly, the connection is hampered in case of bad weathers, and the other one is price structure. Satellite broadband connection can be expensive as compared broadband connection types. Though the connection can be costly customers get extremely high-speed internet.

In the current scenario, internet users often consider Wi-Fi and Broadband connection as the same technology. However, it is essential to know that both terms are different in functions and features. Many internet users often consider that Wi-Fi and Broadband connection refers to an active internet connection, but the actual definition and functioning of both the terms are disparate. In case if users don’t know the difference between Wi-Fi and broadband connection, they might face several troubleshooting issues with their connection. Here in this article, we will cover the differences and working of Wi-Fi and broadband connection.

What is Wi-Fi and How Does it Work?

In simple terms, Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) uses radio signals and frequencies to transfer data, and it doesn’t require any wires for connection. Wi-Fi solely relies on radio waves to deliver information. Wi-Fi uses 802.11 wireless ethernet technologies. Talking about working, Wi-Fi works in two steps. Firstly, the wireless transmitter receives data and information from the broadband connection, which is installed at our homes. Secondly, the transmitter converts the received information and emits it. Once the information received from radio waves is emitted, devices which are connected through Wi-Fi picks up the information. One of the intriguing features of Wi-Fi is that it does not require a physical connection between the sender and the receiver. The transfer of the signal is done through transmitters.

What is Broadband and How Does it Work?

Broadband in simple terms is one of the ways through which users can connect to the internet. Now, one of the most important features of a broadband connection is that it offers high-speed internet connection with and without wires. There are various types and technologies of broadband connections which we have earlier discussed. All the technologies of the broadband connection offer high-speed internet connection to users. The working of broadband connection depends upon the type of technology which the internet users are selecting. For instance, the latest fibre optic network technology offers fast internet speed with high-bandwidth and symmetrical speeds. Fibre optic broadband connection uses transparent glass fibres which have the diameter of human hair. Similarly, cable modem technology uses coaxial cables to provide an internet connection to users.

Difference Between Wi-Fi and Broadband

Now that we know what Wi-Fi and broadband mean, it will be easier to evaluate the differences between Wi-Fi and broadband. In simple terms, broadband is the means through which users get an internet connection. Broadband provides internet connection to users at their doorsteps. On the opposite pole, Wi-Fi is a medium or simple way to use your broadband connection via an access point. One of the major benefits of Wi-Fi connection is that it allows users to connect to the internet via multiple devices simultaneously. As of broadband connection, it directly connects to your devices, offering faster internet speed to users.

Advantages of Wi-Fi Connection

Now we can easily evaluate the advantages of Wi-Fi connection. One of the major advantages of Wi-Fi connection is that it is cheaper than a broadband connection. Apart from this, users get to connect with multiple devices simultaneously. Another major advantage of Wi-Fi is convenience. W-Fi devices offer convenient options to users at any location. The mobility of connection is not present in a broadband connection.

Advantages of Broadband Connection

Broadband connection offers lightning-fast internet speed. Since users get unlimited data pack options in broadband connection, they don’t have to worry about the data limit. As of security measures, a broadband connection is the safest and reliable source of internet connection. Many users say that broadband connection is costly, but with unlimited high-speed internet data packages, the broadband connection falls under the affordable category and it caters to both work and entertainment need of users.
